We’ll Meet Again

I was looking at song lyrics the other night and I came across this song by Johnny Cash, I am not sure I have heard it before…it reminded me of all the relatives and friends that have passed away and made me smile.  I am dedicating it to my dad, who’s birthday is today.  Love and miss you dad!

We’ll Meet Again lyrics

We’ll meet again
Don’t know where
Don’t know when
But I know
We’ll meet again
Some sunny day

Keep smilin’ thru
Just like you
Always do
‘Til the blue skies drive
The dark clouds
Far away

And will you please say hello
to the folks that I know
Tell’em that I won’t be long
And they’ll be happy to know
That when you saw me go
I was singing this song

We’ll meet again
Don’t know where
Don’t know when
But I know
We’ll meet again
Some sunny day

[spoken]
Yeah we’ll meet again
I don’t know where

I don’t know when
But I do know
That we’ll meet again
Some sunny day

[spoken]
So Honey
Keep on smilin’ thru
Just like you always do
‘Til the blue skies
Drive the dark clouds
Far away

And would you please say hello
To all the folks that I know
And tell’em I won’t be long
They’ll be happy to know
That when you saw me go
I was singing this song

[with choir]
We’ll meet again
Don’t know where
Don’t know when
But I know
We’ll meet again
Some sunny day

Today in honor of my dad’s 63rd birthday we are going to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.  For as long as I can remember we, my dad and I, always went to the Balloon Fiesta or watched them from the side of the road…  My dad was fascinated with them and always wanted to ride in one…unfortunately he never got to.  By the time he had the chance to do it, he claimed he was too old to go on a balloon ride.

I remember one year, just before I had Andrew, I took my dad out for breakfast at his favorite restaurant and we had his favorite breakfast, a burrito smothered in green chili.  After that we went to an empty lot a little north of Albuquerque and we sat and watched the balloons fill the skies of Albuquerque.  We just sat there and talked and enjoyed watching the balloons fly over our heads.

Oh, how I miss doing that with him!

Definitely expect pictures later!
