Christmas Ornaments- Clothespin Angels

Clothes pin angels

For this project you will need:

1.  Old fashioned clothes pins with the round top

2.  White craft  paint

3.  brown yarn…or yellow, black,  red, or orange- whatever color you want the angels hair to be.

4.  Silver pipe cleaners

5. White cardstock

6.  Clear glitter

First paint the bottom part of the clothespin white…do not paint the round top on the clothespin, it will be the head of your angel

When you are done painting the clothespin, roll it in clear glitter

Let it dry, it just takes a few minutes

Cut a piece of yarn about 6- 8 inches long.  Put a little craft glue on the round part of the clothespin, not the entire thing, leave room to make a face.  Pinch the yarn together and put it on the top of the round part of the clothespin (I know I should have taken pictures of this, but wasn’t thinking about posting it then.) and wrap the yarn around the outside of the little piece you put on the head, remembering to leave room for a face.  Cut the yarn when you reach the bottom of the back of the head.

Take a pipe cleaner cut a piece about an inch and a half  long and wrap it around your finger to make the halo… tie the ends of the pipe cleaner together.  Put a little glue on the angels head and put the halo on her head

Cut a 6 inch piece of string and tie the ends together.  Place the string, knot side down on the back of the angel.

Take the white card stock. Fold it in half and cut wings for the angel.  Put   the wings onto the angel over the red string…make sure the string comes out over the top of the angels head so you can easily hang it on the tree.

Take a black gel pen and draw a face on your angel.

I made a whole bunch of them!   If you have any questions or need a pattern for wings, let me know and I will gladly make one for you.
