Until we meet again…

I met Nikole when she was two, almost three years old.  She and younger sister were my first babysitting job, though being with them never seemed like a job.  We always had a lot of fun together.  When she was about 12 we lost contact with each other.  A few years ago I found her on Myspace and we started talking again.  We were both very happy to find each other.  Nikole found out last November that she had stage 4 colon cancer and it had spread into her lungs.  She went into remission for a little while and two weeks ago found out that her cancer was active again.  Nikole passed away on Friday June 29.   She was 27 .

The Lord is My Shepherd
Matthew 6:25-34 & Psalm 23
(interpreted by David Patience)

“The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not be in want.”
Jesus teaches about worry of needs in our lives.
For in today’s world we seem to want more than what we really need.
For the Lord Jesus said “for this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink: nor for your body, as to what you will put on.  Is not life more that food, and the body more than clothing?
Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap not gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?  And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?  And why are you worried about clothing?  Observe how the lilies of the field grow, they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like on of these.  But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not clothe you?  You of little faith!  Do not worry then, saying ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’  Or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’  For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.  But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.  So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of it’s own.”
“He makes me lie down in green pastures,”
above the ground of his beautiful  creation in which we may see and hear all that our Lord God has made for us  or we maybe laid to rest inside the earth of his creation when we die.
“He leads me beside quiet waters.”
Where we may come cleanse our mind, body, and soul for our Lord, our God.
“He restores my soul.”
With His blood of the cross which he died for our sins.
“He guides me in the path of righteousness for his names sake.”
Often times we may slip and fall and do wrong but our Lord will forgive us if we ask him truthfully.
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
Your rod beats off our enemies , and your staff brings us back when we are lost in the world of hopelessness.
“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies .  You anoint my head with oil my cup overflows”
With your love. Kindness, and patience you have with us all  we are complete.
“Surely  goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life., and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
That is something we all should be looking forward to someday in our lives as we begin to live for our Lord, our God all the rest of our days starting here and now before it becomes to late  for any of us to enter into the gates of heaven.

  1. Oh, I am so sorry that you lost a person who was such an important part of your past! She was way too young. I am happy that you found each other again though. I am sure you made her time on this planet much more enjoyable. Big hugs to you.

  2. (((((HUGS))))) 😐 I’m very sorry to hear about your friend.
