Describe an item you were incredibly attached to as a youth. What became of it?
I was given a doll for Christmas when I was three months old (in 1973). I didn’t play with her for a long time. I took interest in her when I was about 8 or so. She had brown hair, big blue eyes, a big smile on her face, she had a cloth body that is pink. She was pretty close, in my opinion at that age, to a real baby. I used to wrap her up in a baby blanket and carry her around everywhere, including the grocery store. I remember having ladies ask if I was carrying a real baby around. I named her Laura after Laura Ingals on Little House on the Prairie.
I still have her. I’ve had her 50 years. I made her a baby hat and caccoon to put her in because she’s old and I didn’t want her to fall apart. I’ll post a picture of her later.
