What is your favorite animal?
Ever since I can remember I have adored cats. I remember playing with my grandmas big fluffy white cat when I was small, maybe 3 years old. I broke out in what my mom thought were hives and we thought I was allergic for years.
One summer day my dad and brother brought home our first cat. Someone had left him in a motel room. The motel owner asked my dad, who was eating at the motel’s restaurant, if he wanted it. My brother fell in love with the kitty. It was about 3 months old and was gray. My mom had a fit because I was allergic. I either outgrew my allergy or my grandmas cat had fleas. I don’t know, but I was not allergic. My brother named him Silver and my mom called him KiKi. I got scratched and bit a lot. I loved that kitty not to sure he liked me.
One of my cousins moved in with my grandma. She also loved cats, she found one and brought it home. The following year the cat had kittens. The most beautiful kittens I had ever seen. One of them was a fire red/ orange and he had little white circles around his eyes. I named him Bandit. There were six kittens, but Bandit was my favorite. I played with him and cuddled him every day during that summer, when I was at my grandma’s house. Bandit grew into a gorgeous, huge, fluffy cat. He was so big! I wish I could have taken him home with me but we had KiKi. Bandit and some of his siblings went to live in Belen, NM to be barn cats.
When I was 13 my cousins cat hat kittens again. On my 14th birthday we had a party an my grandma’s house. The kittens were 8 weeks old and were outside on the deck. They wanted in and would climb the screen door. They were just hanging around. So I picked a little white one up and stuck him in the pocket of my brand new coat. My mom and dad said I could keep him and take him home with me. So, on the car ride home with my brothers in the back seat we loved on the kitten. He was fluffy and white like a powder puff. He had beautiful blue eyes. I named him Buffy. He grew to be a big kitty. I had him for 10 years. He passed when I moved to Arizona.

I still love cats, I currently have 13. Most of them are rescues.
